There has been a sharp rise in theft from farms over the past two years. NFU mutual has reported a 17% increase including a large rise in stolen livestock. The Ulster Farmers Union (UFU) is now calling for a co-ordinated approach across Northern Ireland to tackle the problem. It will meet senior PSNI commanders this week to discuss the need for measures to tackle rural theft.
